Idag satt jag modell åt Ninja Minerals-Sara när hon gjorde sitt slutprov på gelnaglar på nagelteknologutbildningen =) Jag har aldrig haft någon sorts nagelförlängning förut så det var riktigt spännande, och jag är supernöjd med slutresultatet! Tack så jättemycket Sara, du är skitduktig!

In English: I sat model for Ninja Minerals Sara when she did her final exam on gel nails today at her nail therapist course =) I've never had any kind of false nails before so I was really excited, and I'm super happy about the finished result! Thank you so much Sara, you rock!

Sista lacket att testa ur de jag beställde ur China Glaze-kollektionen Up and away är det mintgröna Re-Fresh mint. Utav de tre mintgröna lack jag äger så är Re-Fresh mint helt klart "mintigast" - Peppermint Patti från MAC är ganska många nyanser mörkare, och Mint candy apple från Essie är mer blåtonat. Precis som de flesta andra lack i den här kollektionen är Re-Fresh mint aningen knepigt att jobba med, men det är faktiskt ett av de mer lättlackade. Är man noggrann i appliceringen så täcker två lager jättebra, jag toppade med ett lager Seche Vite. Har ni inte spanat in det här lacket än så gör det, det är det perfekta vårlacket!

Trots att Re-Fresh mint är väldigt fint i sig självt så kände jag för en lite mörkare nagel idag, så jag stämplade det med det skotsrutiga mönstret från Konadplatta M60 och P2-lacket Dangerous. Dangerous är galet fint i sig självt på nageln med, jag glömde fota det när jag bar det sist så jag får ta och lacka om med det snart, det är en riktigt snygg och unik färg!

In English: The last polish for me to try out from the China Glaze collection Up and away is the mint green Re-Fresh mint. Out of the three mints I own, Re-Fresh mint is the "mintiest" one - Peppermint Patti from MAC is several shades darker, and Mint candy apple from Essie is more blue toned. Just as with most other polishes released with this collection, Re-Fresh mint is a bit tricky to work with, allthough it is one of the easiest to paint with. If you're careful during the application, two coats are enough for it to be opaque, and I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite. If you haven't checked this out yet - do it, it's the perfect shade for spring!

Allthough Re-Fresh mint is gorgeous on its own, I felt like wearing a shade bit darker today, so I stamped it with the argyle pattern from Konad image plate M60 and the P2 polish Dangerous. Dangerous is gorgeous by its own by the way, I forgot to take a picture of it when I wore it so I have to use it again soon, it's such a pretty and unique shade!

Ett av de lack jag såg mest fram emot ur China Glaze-kollektionen Up and Away var det kalla mörklila Grape pop. Av någon outgrundlig anledning blev det näst ut att testas av lacken jag beställde, men å andra sidan så är det ju alltid trevligt att spara det bästa till sist! Lila krämlack är något jag är väldigt förtjust i, och jag kände att jag saknade ett lite mörkare kalltonat sådant i min samling.

Grape pop visade sig vara exakt vad jag letade efter; det är mörkt lila, men inte så mörkt att det riskerar att se svart ut, och det är en kall lila ton som ändå är tydligt lila utan att dra mot blått. Lacket är, precis som majoriteten av lacken ur samma serie, aningen i tjockaste laget och är lite småpilligt att måla med, men det kan jag helt klart leva med för att få bära den här snyggingen på mina naglar =) Två lager ger bra täckning, och jag toppade med ett lager Seche Vite.

Jag funderade på om jag skulle lämna det som det var eller dekorera det med Konad, vilket slutade med att jag stämplade ringfingernaglarna med en rosettstämpel från konadplatta M59 och  China Glaze light as air. I mitten av varje rosett satte jag även en liten sten med pärlor runt. Diskret men dekorativt!

In English: One of the polishes I was looking most forward to from the China Glaze collection Up and Away was the cool grape purple Grape pop. For some reason, I've saved it for almost last to try out from the ones that I ordered, but on the other hand it's always nice to save the best for last! Purple cremes are really my cup of tea, and I felt that I was missing a cooler toned dark purple in my collection.

Grape pop showed to be exactly what I had been looking for; It's a dark purple, but not so dark that it can be mistaken for black, and it's cool toned without being a blurple. The polish is, like most of the other polishes from the collection, a bit thick in consistensy and not too easy to paint with, but it's a small price to pay to be able to wear this hottie on my nails =) Two coats give great coverage, and I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite.

I debated on whether I should decorate it with Konad or not, which ended in me stamping my ring finger nails with a bow pattern from konad image plate M59 and China Glaze light as air. I put a small rhinestone with bullion beads around it in the middle of each bow. Descrete but decorative!

Turkosa naglar idag för att matcha det turkosa sminket! Flyin' high är ytterligare ett lack ur China Glaze-kollektionen Up and away (har lackat mig igenom alla jag beställde utom två nu) och det är en perfekt turkos färg; varken för blå eller för grön, inte för ljus eller för mörk. Tyvärr gör bilderna inte riktigt färgen rättvisa; precis som med alla andra turkosa lack så blir det betydligt blåare och mesigare på bild än i verkligheten. Lacket var helt okej att måla med, man behöver ta ganska mycket lack på penseln för att det ska flyta ut ordentligt på nageln däremot. Två stycken halvtjocka lager gav bra täckning, och jag toppade med ett lager Seche Vite.

In English: Turquoise nails today to match the turquoise makeup! Flyin' high is another polish from the China Glaze collection Up and away (I've tried all of the ones I ordered but two by now) and it's a perfect turquiose; neither too blue or too green, not to light or too dark. Unfortunally, the pictures don't do the shade justice; just as with all other turquoise polishes it's bluer and less saturated in pictures than in real life. It's okay to paint with, you need quite a lot of polish on the brush to get an even coat. Two semi-thick coats were enough for it to be opaque, and I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Efter en intensiv period av grönt och lila kände jag för en varmare färg på naglarna. Valet idag föll på det hallonrödrosa krämlacket Heli-Yum från China Glaze-kollektionen Up and away. Färgen drar mer mot rosa än mot rött, och den påminner mig om hallonsås. Urtjusigt, och lättlackat dessutom! Två lager räcker för bra täckning, och jag avslutade med ett lager Seche Vite för extra glans och hållbarhet.




In English: After an intense period with green and purple, I felt like a warmer shade on my nails. Today's choice was the raspberry pink creme polish Heli-Yum from the China Glaze collection Up and away. The colour leans more towars pink than red, and it reminds me of raspberry sauce. Gorgeous, and really easy to paint with aswell! Two coats are enough for great coverage, and I finished with a coat of Seche Vite for extra shine and durability.

Idag var jag sugen på ett pastellack, och valet föll på det ljust lila Light as air från China Glaze-kollektionen Up and away. Jag var lite skeptisk till hur det här skulle fungera mot min hudton till en början, för ljuslila brukar ha en tendens att göra antingen så att händerna ser döda ut eller att dom blir tomatröda. Light as air är däremot en riktigt smickrande lila eftersom den drar lite mot grått, så jag blev positivt överraskad! Två lager räckte för perfekt täckning, och det var väldigt trevligt och enkelt att måla med trots att det är ett pastellack. Toppade med ett lager Seche Vite. Det här lacket skulle nog vara jättefint med ett mörklila konad-mönster över!

In English: Today I felt like wearing a pastel polish, so I chose the light purple Light as air from the China Glaze Up and awa collection. I was a bit sceptic towards how this would work with my skintone, since a lot of light purples have the tendancy to either make my hands look dead or really pink. Light as air is a very flattering purple though since it leans somewhat towards grey, so I was pleasantly surprised! Two coats were enough for total coverage, and it was really easy to apply for being a pastel polish. I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite. This polish would look great with a darker purple konad pattern on top!

När Jill var här igår passade vi på att göra ett litet nagelexperiment med, nämligen en gradientmanikyr med krämlack i hennes favoritfärg: lila. Vi använde oss av tre lila krämlack i olika ljushetsgrad inom samma färgfamilj: China Glaze Light as air (ljusast), OPI A grape fit (mellersta färgen) och China Glaze Grape pop (mörkast), och blandade helt enkelt lacken med varandra på en liten plastpalett med en tandpetare för att få till "mellanfärgerna" =) Jag tycker resultatet blev riktigt läckert, det här måste jag testa med andra färger!

In English: When Jill visited me yesterday, we also did a small nail polish experiment; a gradient manicure with creme polishes in her favourite colour: purple. We used three purple cremes in different shades within the same colour family: China Glaze Light as air (lightest), OPI A grape fit (middle colour) and China Glaze Grape pop (darkest), and custom blended the shades with each other on a small plastic palette with a toothpick to get the middle colours =) I really like the results, I have to try this with other colours!

Ni vet ju hur mycket jag älskar gröna nagellack, och jag är riktigt förtjust i krämlack med så att det skogsgröna krämlacket Forest från Nubar skulle bli en favorit hos mig kom inte som en speciellt stor överraskning =) Forest släpptes med förra sommarens helgröna kollektion Going green, och jag klickade hem mitt exemplar från tradera för några veckor sen. Den gröna färgen drar aningen mot det kalla hållet och har ett fantastiskt djup för att vara ett krämlack, två lager täcker perfekt och formulan är helt ljuvlig! Jag har toppat med ett lager Seche Vite som vanligt.

In English: You know how much I love green polishes, and I'm really fond of cremes aswell so the fact that the forest green creme polish Forest from Nubar was going to be a favourite didn't come as a surprise to me =) Forest was released with last summer's all green collection Going green, and I bought my bottle from a the Swedish auction site tradera a couple of weeks ago. The green shade leans somewhat towards the cool side and has got a fantastic depth for being a creme, two coats provide perfect coverage and the formula is just pure perfection! I topped it off with my regular coat of Seche Vite.

Ungefär samtidigt som jag fick hem mina lack från transdesign så trillade även ett paket från cherry culture in, innehållandes tre nagellack från budgetmärket NYX. Det NYX-lack jag valde att testa först heter Jungle, som är ett så kallt glass fleck-lack. Basen är djupt turkosblå och skimrar i grönt och guld, med en finish som inte är helt täckande utan låter den egna nageln lysa igenom till viss del. Det här är nog den mest fantastiska färg jag någonsin har sett, jag kan inte sluta stirra på det! Formulan är helt underbar att jobba med också; trots att lacket är så skirt och det krävs minst 4 lager för att få det täckande så torkar det helt fenomenalt snabbt till en yta som är både hård och slitstark. Jag toppade med ett lager Seche Vite däremot, för jag är lat och orkar inte ens vänta på att ett lack med snabb torktid ska torka av sig självt =P Älskar du gröna och blåa lack är Jungle nästan ett måste, och gillar du inte skira lack går det alldeles utmärkt att applicera det över ett mer täckande blått eller turkost lack.

About at the sime time as I got my polishes from transdesign, I also got a package from cherry culture containing three polishes from the drugstore brand NYX. The NYX polish I chose to try out first is called Jungle, which is a so called glass fleck polish. The base is a deep turquoise, topped with lots of green and gold shimmer, and the finish is not entirely opaque. This is probably the most amazing colour I've ever seen; I can't stop staring at it! The formula is excellent aswell, even though that the polish is pretty sheer and needs at least for coats, it dries really fast into a hard and durable finish. I did top it with a coat of Seche Vite though, because I'm lazy and can't even wait for fast drying polishes to dry by itself =P If you like blue and green polishes, Jungle is a must-have, and if you don't like sheer polishes it works great to layer it over a more opaque turquoise or blue polish!

Jag har svårt att hålla mig från att dekorera krämlack, och Lemon Fizz i princip skrek efter att få sällskap av ett mönster på nageln. Grönt är ju som bekant fint ihop med gult, så jag högg mitt nya (och första) lack från Nubar; forest, och stämplade ett av mina favoritmönster med det över Lemon Fizz. Mönstret kommer från konadplatta M64 =)

Det är inte helt lätt att lacka med; jag behövde tre lager för att få färgen jämn och fin, och ett snabbtorkande överlack är verkligen på sin plats med det här lacket eftersom det är ganska tjockt, så jag avslutade med ett lager Seche Vite.

In English: I continue to try on my newest additions to the polish collection, and today I chose the pastel yellow creme Lemon Fizz from the China Glaze spring collection Up and away. I acctually never thought I'd wear a pastel yellow on my nails, but here I am with the colour on and I'm really fond of it! It's not an easy applied polish though; I needed three coats for an even and nice finish, and a fast dry top coat is really needed since it's pretty thick, so I finished it off with a coat of Seche vite.

Four Leaf Clover, som släpps med nya China Glaze-kollektionen Up and Away, är en underlig färg som skiftar mellan mörkt neongrön och turkost beroende på ljus. Dessutom går den i princip inte att fånga på bild, jag har gjort så gott jag kan men färgen är betydligt djupare och mer intensiv på riktigt. Lacket är hyfsat tjockt och är inte helt lätt att måla med, men med snabbtorkande överlack är det inga större problem när det kommer till torktiden. Det är helt klart värt besväret däremot för det är en riktigt snygg och unik färg! Seche clear base, två lager Four Leaf Clover och ett lager Seche Vite på bilderna.

In English: Four Leaf Clover, which is released with the new China Glaze collection Up and Away, is a strange colour that shifts colour depending on the lightning; it's dark neon green in brigth daylight, and turquiose in dim lights. It's also almost impossible to catch on a picture, I've done my best but the colour is deeper and more intense in real life. The polish is pretty thick and not too easy to work with, but with a speed dry top coat, the drying time is pretty decent. It's definately worth the trouble though because it's such a gorgeous and unique shade! Seche clear base, two coats Four Leaf Clover and a coat of Seche Vite in pictures.

Först ut att testas av mina nya lack är det multifärgade glitterlacket Mad as a hatter från OPI's Alice in Wonderland-kollektion. Det här lacket är verkligen helt galet; allt händer liksom på en gång i det, och det går inte att fånga på bild i det svaga vinterljuset hur mycket naglarna glittrar. Som en discokula, underbart! På bilderna har jag 4 lager Mad as a hatter över ett lager Seche base, toppat med ett lager Seche vite. Det är fortfarande lite skrovligt i strukturen eftersom överlacket liksom sjunker in mellan glittret, men det gör inte så mycket tycker jag =) Som ni ser så går det att få heltäckning med enbart det här lacket, men nästa gång ska jag testa det över ett mörkt krämlack för att slippa lacka så många lager. Har lite ångest över när jag ska ta bort det däremot, glitterlack tenderar att sitta som berget! Får ta och köra folie-metoden (tack för tipset, SaintBella!) och hoppas att det lossnar relativt snabbt och smärtfritt.

In English: First out of my new polishes to be tried on is the multi-coloured glitter polish Mad as a hatter from the OPI Alice in Wonderland collection. This polish is absolutely crazy; there's so much going on at one time, and I can't capture in pictures in bad winter outdoor lightning how blingy my nails are. Like a disco ball! I've applied 4 coats of Mad as a hatter on top of a coat of Seche base in the pictures, topped off with a coat of Seche vite. As you might notice, it's still kinda rough since the top coat sinks in between the glitter particles, but I don't mind it that much =) As you can see, it's so dense that it's possible to get full coverage with this polish alone, but next time I'll try it on top of a dark creme to get away with as few coats as possible. I'm dreading the day I have to remove this baby though; glitters tend to stay put pretty well on the nails! I'll try the foile method (thanks for the tip, SaintBella!) and keep my fingers crossed that it comes of quick and easy.

Jag är antagligen bland de sista i bloggvärlden att skriva om Essies mintgröna krämlack ur julkollektionen Sweet time of the year; Mint candy apple, eftersom jag inte kommit mig för att beställa hem det förrän nu av någon anledning. Som ni kanske vet så är jag väldigt förtjust i gröna nagellack, och speciellt mintgröna, och Mint candy apple är verkligen en riktigt mintig färg. Den drar aningen mer åt blått än MAC Peppermint patti, och de två är tillräckligt olika varandra för att det ska vara värt att äga båda två om du som jag gillar lack i den här färgen. Underlack, två lager lack och ett lager snabbtorkande överlack på bilderna. Lacket är hyfsat lättlackat och har bra torktid. Visst är det snyggt!

In English: I'm probably among one of the last persons in the blog world to write about Essie's mint green creme polish from the holiday collection Sweet time of the year; Mint candy apple, since I haven't ordered it until now for some unknown reason. As you might have noticed, I love green polishes and especially mint greens, and Mint candy apple is a really minty colour. It's a tad more blue than MAC Peppermint patti, and they're different enough from each other to justify to own both if you like this colour. Base coat, two coats of polish and a coat of fast dry topcoat in the pictures. The polish is fairly easy to paint with, and it dries pretty fast. Isn't it just gorgeous?!

Zoya är ett av mina absoluta favoritmärken när det kommer till nagellack. Extremt lättlackade, hållbara och snabbtorkande, och de kommer i en hel drös med fina och unika färger. Tyvärr är de lite småsvåra att få tag på om man bor i Sverige; själv köper jag mina på ebay eller tradera men jag har hört talas om att de ska finnas i en butik i Göteborg, dock till det inte så värst blygsamma priset 150 kr/st.

Det nyaste tillskottet i Zoya-samlingen hemma hos mig är mörkt mörkt gröna Envy, som släpptes med Dare-kollektionen under 2009. Jag har ett lack ur samma serie sedan tidigare, det dammiga lila Demi, och jag är minst lika förtjust i Envy som jag är i Demi. Två lager ger en perfekt krämig täckning, och toppat med ett lager snabbtorkande överlack, Seche Vite, blir det verkligen perfekt. Jag älskar det!

In English: Zoya is one of my absolute favourite brands when it comes to nail polish. They are extremely easy to apply, lasts for a long time, dries fast and comes in a huge variety of pretty and unique shades. Unfortunally, they're a bit hard to come by here in Sweden, so I buy mine from eBay.

The newest addition to my Zoya collection is the deep dark green Envy that was released with the Dare collection in 2009. I have a polish from the same collection since before, the dusty purple Demi, and I'm at least as happy about Envy as I am with Demi. Two coats provides a perfect creamy coverage, and topped off with a coat of Seche Vite, it's pure perfection. I love it!

Det nattsvarta och superblanka lacket Liquid Leather från China Glaze är ett av mina favoritlack, och det är riktigt snyggt tillsammans med kontrastfärger som guld, silver och vitt! Dagens manikyr består av tre lager Liquid leather, stämplat med ett mönster från konadplatta M64 och metallicsilverlacket Milennium från China Glaze. Toppade allt med ett lager snabbtorkande överlack, Seche Vite.

In English: The carbon black and super shiny polish Liquid Leather from China Glaze is one of my favourite polishes, and it's gorgeous together with contrast shades such as gold, silver and white! Two coats of that, and then I stamped two different snowflake patterns from Konad image plate M59 with Konad white special polish and China Glaze millennium in metallic silver. I topped it off with two coats of Seche Vite, and voilá: instant new years blingy nails!

Jag lackade faktiskt naglarna med det här lacket tidigare i veckan, men väntade med att publicera det tills nu för det inte skulle bli alltför mycket lack-spam i bloggen ;-) Emerald Sparkle är ett smaragdgrönt glitterlack med många små små glitterpartiklar som får lacket att se ut som en glittrande juvel. Visst är det helt fantastiskt!

In English: I acctually did this manicure earlier this week, but I waited to publish it until now because I didn't want to spam you with nail polish entries ;-) Emerald sparkle is an emerald green glitter polish with lots of tiny glitter particles that makes the polish look like a glittery jewel. Isn't it just breathtakingly gorgeous!

Idag är det första advent, och vad passar inte bättre då än ett par klarröda naglar för att inleda julen? Vodka & Caviar från OPI är nog den snyggaste röda nyansen jag någonsin har sett. Lacket är som en blandning mellan ett krämlack och ett jellylack, efter två lager så syns fortfarande lite av nagelkanten igenom men det är absolut inget som stör mig. Tyvärr gör inte bilderna lacket riktigt rättvisa eftersom det är dimma ute idag, men tro mig; det är galet snyggt, och letar du efter det perfekta röda krämlacket så kommer Vodka & Caviar inte att göra dig besviken!

In English: Today it's the first Advent, and what doesn't suit better to begin christmas with than a set of bright red nails? Vodka & Caviar from OPI is probably the most gorgeous shade of red I've ever seen. The polish is like a blend between a jelly and a creme, and after two coats the smile line is still a little visible but it doesn't bother me at all. Unfortunally, the pictures don't really make this polish justice since it's foggy outside today, but belive me; it's gorgeous, and if you're looking for the perfect red creme, Vodka & Caviar won't leave you dissapointed!

Flying dragon från China Glaze har jag velat ha ett bra tag, men det fick inte följa med förrän i min senaste lackbeställning från Trans Design av någon anledning. Flying dragon är ett mörkt neonlila lack som drar mot rosa, fullspäckat med rosa, lila och blåa skimmerpartiklar. Eftersom det innehåller neonpigment så blir det däremot halvmatt när det torkar, men det går å andra sidan att åtgärda lätt med ett lager överlack. Tre lager av Flying dragon behövdes för att det skulle bli jämnt och täckande, och sedan två lager överlack på det för att ge glans och jämna ut strukturen. Det är så fint på egen hand att det inte behöver någon dekoration, men jag kände för lite blommor och stämplade ett mönster med Konadplatta M60 och China Glaze Milennium i metallicsilver på båda ringfingrarna. Sist fäste jag en liten sten i mitten av varje blomma. Färgen är lite svår att fånga på bild, den drar mer mot rosa i verkligheten.

In English: I've been lemming for Flying dragon from China Glaze for a while, but for some reason I didn't order it until with my last order from Trans Design. Flying dragon is a dark neon purple polish that lean towards pink, with lots of pink, purple and blue shimmer particles. Since it has got neon pigments in it, it dries to a semi matte finish, but this is easily corrected with a top coat. I needed three coats of Flying dragon for it being even and opaque, and then two coats of top coat to give shine and even out the texture. It's gorgeous on its own so it really doesn't need any decorations, but I felt like having some flowers so I stamped a pattern from Konad image plate M60 and China Glaze Milennium in silver metallic on both my ring fingers. I finished the design by placing small rhinestones in the center of each flower. The colour is a bit hard to catch in pictures, it's a bit more pink in real life.
