Jag fortsätter att recensera e.l.f.-produkter, idag tänkte jag skriva några rader om deras mineralfoundation i lös form: Mineral foundation. Nyansen jag har fått testa heter "Light" och ska passa ljus hy med gyllene undertoner.

 

 

Mineral foundation är en mineralfoundation i lös form med medelhög täckning. Formulan består enbart av rena mineraler, utan tillsatta parabener, konserveringsmedel och kemiska färgämnen. Så här beskriver e.l.f själva produkten:

Our weightless mineral foundation will help get you on your way to healthier illuminating skin. All our powders blend naturally into the skin, and are so light that they work with your skin color to create a perfect color match. All of our foundations contain sun protection factor (spf) 15 and are 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

Weight - 3.4 grams

Directions - Shake the Natural Mineral Foundation – SPF 15 back and forth to get excess loose powder into the tray. Gently glide over the powder with an e.l.f. Kabuki or Total Face Brush to grab the powder, bring your brush to the cap to work in the powder to the brush, then tap off any excess. Apply to areas of the face that need coverage by working into the skin in a circular motion.

Jag måste erkänna att jag är ett stort fan av flytande foundations, eftersom det fungerar bäst ihop med min hudtyp, men jag använder gärna mineralfoundation då och då och i synnerhet på sommaren. e.l.f.:s mineralfoundation har jag använt ihop med min vanliga flytande primer och flytande concealer, och fixerat med ett mineralpuder från MAC, mineralize skinfinish natural. Jag har applicerat mineralfoundationen med min kabukiborste från MAC, #182.

Jag gillar den här mineralfoundationen för dagar då jag bara vill göra min hudton lite jämnare och inte bära så mycket smink i övrigt, så jag kommer nog vara väldigt förtjust i den här i sommar. Dock så har den tyvärr lite för låg täckning för att jag ska kunna använda den som bas till t.ex. en kvällsmakeup, och lägger man på mer för att bygga upp extra täckning så kan det lätt bli kakigt. Dessutom tycker jag att nyansutbudet är aningen smalt; visserligen är mineralfoundation ganska förlåtande då det kommer till nyans eftersom den egna hudtonen lyser igenom till viss del, men jag tycker ändå att den här nyansen är aningen för gul för mig. Samtliga ljushetsgrader finns bara i en underton, antingen kall eller varm, vilket kan göra det svårt för vissa att hitta en nyans som passar dom.

Sammanfattningsvis så är det här en produkt jag gillar, och den är definitivt prisvärd, men den låga täckningsgraden och det smala färgutbudet gör att den här produkten inte får full pott av mig eftersom den inte fungerar ihop med just min hudtyp och hudton, något som är väldigt individuellt. Är du ute efter en mineralfoundation med låg/medel täckning och din nyans finns i utbudet däremot ska du absolut spana in den här!

In English: I'm continuing my reviews of some e.l.f. products, today I thought I'd write a few lines about their loose mineral foundation. The shade I've tried out is called "Light" and suits light skin with golden undertones.

Mineral foundation is a loose mineral foundation that contains only pure mineral products with no parabens, preservatives or chemical dyes. This is how e.l.f. describes the product on their website:

I have to admit that I'm a big fan of liquid foundation, since it works so well together with my skintype, but I like to use mineral foundation once in a while, especially in the summer. I've used e.l.f. mineral foundation together with my usual liquid primer, liquid concealer and fixed it with a mineral powder from MAC, mineralize skinfinish natural. I've applied the foundation with my MAC kabuki brush, #182.

I like this mineral foundation for days when I only want to even out my skintone and not wear too much other makeup, so this will probably be something I'll reach for a lot this summer. Allthough, the coverage is a bit too sheer for me to use it as a base with an evening makeup, for example, and if I add more to build coverage it gets cakey very easily. Plus, I think that the range of shades is a bit narrow; mineral foundation might be quite forgiving when it comes to the shade since the own skintone shines through a bit, but this shade is still a bit too yellow for my skin. All shades come in either cold or warm undertones, which can make it a bit difficult to find a shade that suites your own skintone.

To sum it up, this is a product I like, and it's really worth it's money, but the low coverage in combination with the narrow range of shades brings down the rating on this products, since it simply don't suit my skintype and skintone, something that's very individual. If you're looking for a mineral foundation with low/medium coverage though and your shade is available, you should definately check this one out!
